Weekly Update: March 14, 2011

Sorry about the past two weeks. Didn't have internet for half of last week. (Had to use school's).
Mario Paint Composer

The Lyrical OC I said I'd try to get out by the 22nd is being delayed (big shock). I'm having problems writing the lyrics and getting the music to sound just right. If I had Evolution, this process would be tremendously faster. Oh well.

Johto Minecraft

Haven't played Minecraft in a while. Been busy playing a variety of games, old and new.

Other

Having roommate problems. As I said, the internet in our apartment was shut off due to it not being paid for a long time. The roommate that checks it hadn't checked in the past three months. It doesn't help that he was broke as well.

Another roommate is flat broke as well, and he doesn't have a job or go to school. So he sits at home basically every day.

My final roommate has a job, has school, and can make payments, but there is no way the two of us can cover double rent if it comes to it. It's all getting a little hectic.

Weekly Update: February 21, 2011

Mario Paint Composer

All right. I've made my mind up.

I am going to try and get an MPC out by the 22nd of March. That gives me about a month. I'll try really hard.

It's going to be an OC as well. 90% chance it's a Lyrical.

Johto Minecraft

Didn't really get a chance to play it. I was playing a different game, which is...

Other

999: Nine Persons, Nine Hours, Nine Doors

Amazing game. Multiple endings, story over gameplay (though not saying that the gameplay sucks; it doesn't), interesting characters, and sets a mood that won't break until at least a week after you beat one of the endings. I still feel like playing it right now, and I've gotten all the endings.

Started up Hotel Dusk. Heard nothing but good things about it, and it's kind of like Ace Attorney and 999. So far, I like it. Hasn't really built up yet, but the characters are enjoyable so far.

Had a snow day today. First one in about two years. Took some time to play some video games and finish up some homework. Pretty uneventful day but fun overall.

Oh, and I had to shovel out my car. And my roommate's. And my friend's. And to be nice, some random person's car who parked next to me. :P

Weekly Update: February 14, 2011

Mario Paint Composer

I opened MPC over the week, so that was a start.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to work on ANYTHING. I feel like a failure. ;-; I'm trying to get a song I really want to do.

Johto Minecraft

Nope...

;-;

Other

Instead of playing MPC or MineCraft, I played Metroid Prime and it's sequel. I even 100% item'd both (I got 100% scans in Echoes as well). I don't have a Wii, but my roommate does, and one of our friends has agreed to lend us Corruption. I'm on a little "Metroid" addiction right now.

School started back up, and to combat what happened last quarter, I unhooked my 360 and swore to NOT play it.

Weekly Update: February 7, 2011

Mario Paint Composer

Once again, I didn't get a chance to play w/ MPC over the past week; finals in my classes. I have this week off, however, so I'll try to get something done.

Johto Minecraft

Once again, I didn't get a chance to...hey. This looks familiar...

Other

Like I said, finals all last week. Overall, I'm very disappointed in how I did overall. Too little time to accomplish all that I needed to, and I suffered from it. Oh well. It's too late to change any of that. Only to improve on next quarter.

Weekly Update: January 31, 2011

Mario Paint Composer

Didn't get a chance to play around with it over the weekend, as I was extremely busy. I will have plenty of time next week however, as I have that week off from school.

Johto Minecraft

Doesn't show what I've done of Kanto. Branching off from Viridian, I went all the way to Pewter north and all the way to Fuchsia from the south. They'll connect eventually.

Other

I went to the concert on Friday. The first opening band was okay. Not really my style of music. However, the second band caught me by surprise, as I had never heard any of their music, but I was throughly impressed.

I was an overall fun experience. Shame it's already over.

Weekly Update: January 24, 2011

I didn't forget the past two weeks. I was just on winter break.
...wait...

Mario Paint Composer

I tinkered with Mario Paint over the past two weeks. I am part of the upcoming Community OC, and I finished my part last Thursday. I'm not particularly proud of it, but I"m comparing my part with MPCers who use the original soundfont a lot more than I do.

I'm still trying to find a song to do. I should have some free time once my quarter ends.

Johto Minecraft

I FINALLY moved onto Kanto. Viridian is done, along with Route 1 and most of Pallet Town. Kanto is a little more "flatter" than Johto, mostly because Kanto has no tall trees. Oh well.

Other

I've started a Let's Play, but it's already suffered a setback. Apparently people want audio commentary instead of annotation commentary, so I need to get a mic so I can do commentary. Part 2 won't be coming out this week, but hopefully I can get it out by next week. I plan on recording a LOT over my week break, which is in the next two weeks.

Linkin Park concert this Friday. Got my tickets for it in November. I am so EXCITED. :D

Weekly Update: January 3, 2011

I didn't forget the past two weeks. I was just on winter break.
(Yeah...that'll work...)

Mario Paint Composer

I haven't had a chance to tinker around with it over the long break; there were many other games I had gotten and devoted time to. I know, how bad of me ;-;

Other

As I stated, winter break, Christmas, and New Years over the past two weeks. One of my favorite moments every year. Went up to Bemidji and had a very fun time.

Johto Minecraft suffered a large setback with the introduction of Beta, reaulting in the reintroduction of leaf decay. Most of the western half lost all the leaves that they had, which meant a lot of rebuilding. It's complete now, so I can FINALLY move on to Kanto.

Weekly Update: December 6, 2010

Mario Paint Composer

This weekend was pretty busy for me.. Uploaded four videos in four days, not to mention having to work and school work. One was actually an MPC, which is linked -> here <-.

Time to get that final MPC out before Christmas.

Other

Due to all the work over the past week, I haven't had any chance to work on Johto Minecraft. Hopefully I can get to it sometime this week.

Weekly Update: November 29, 2010

Mario Paint Composer

I started tinkering with MPC over the long weekend. I started on a song and have a new song in mind once the other one is done. I hope to release two MPCs before 2010 is over. One is a video game song, the other is a TV song.

Other

Johto Minecraft is going along well. I finished Johto and am now on my way towards the Indigo Plateau. Once there, I'll probably do Mt. Silver first then heard towards Viridian.

School work this quarter is going to be a lot compared to last quarter. Not to mention I also have work to go to. Very busy these next few months.

Weekly Update: November 23, 2010

Now I'm getting mad.

Mario Paint Composer

I've started on a new song, even though it doesn't sound good so far. I also started on a new OC, but that doesn't sound like I want it either. I fear that my OCs will have to wait until I get my new desktop, since being able to use Evolution (something I cannot use anymore on my laptop) GREATLY helps the process for me.

Someone was kind enough to create a techno/trance remix of Melancholy. Be sure to check it out!

Other

School's started over again, so yay for that.

I got COD: Black Ops while I was up in Bemidji, so I've been playing that a lot. I also managed to pick up Age of Empires III for a dime the other day as well, though I haven't had the chance to play it yet.

My biggest project, however, has been recreating the world of Johto in the game Minecraft. In layman's terms, I'd say I'm about 3/5 of the way there. I still need to do Mahogany, Blackthorn, and the routes connecting them. I also plan to do Kanto.

Weekly Update: November 8, 2010

GRRR

Mario Paint Composer

If you haven't yet seen it, I did come out with a new MPC over the past two weeks. Now time to brainstorm the next.

Also, if you've noticed, is that I've taken it upon myself to create the Song of the Week video playlist. It's something I've heard others wanted, so I took the initiative. I plan to release each video every Wednesday, but I don't want to jinx it.

Other

I'm back in Bemidji for the week, as the quarter's over. I'm now halfway through college!

Weekly Update: October 18, 2010

GODDOMMOT FRONK

Mario Paint Composer

I actually touched MPC over the past few weeks. I even started a song, though it quickly disapatted. It sucks not being able to use Evolution.

I've decided that my next "major" project will be a Linkin Park song. I hop I can get it out before Halloween.

Other

Not in the best of moods this week either. School's piling up, work's taking all of my free time (I did get paid today however). Saving up for a desktop so I can use Evolution.

Weekly Update: September 27, 2010

Mario Paint Composer

GRR.

I finally re-downloaded ALL the soundfonts I used to have. So now I can finally use MPC again.

Don't you hate it whenever you can't use something, but then you get a huge amount of inspiration? Yeah, that's basically what has happened

Other

Not in the best of moods this week. I happened to get in a car accident, so now I'm without a car for a few weeks. GRR.

Weekly Update: August 9, 2010

Happy birthday Dad!

Mario Paint Composer

Like I said, the 3rd Community OC should be coming out within the next month. FINALLY.

As for what I've worked on, I didn't get a chance to actually touch it over the weekend. I'm still looking for that piece that'll spur me to open it again. I have a few ideas, but nothing I want to do yet.

The Buck Stops Here (TBSH)

We start a new movie tomorrow I think. I've already finished my short story, so I don't have to worry about that anymore.

As for ACTUAL news about TBSH, I think it'll be put on indefinite hiatus (odd since it never really started). I just don't have the time or materials necessary to have this work. I'm not calling it quits, I'm just saying not yet.

Other

Got sick AGAIN over the weekend (seriously, this is like the first time in ten years I got sick twice within a month's span). Started on Kid Wars - Chapter 10 and started thinking of major plot points and events in Torch. Torch'll take me a while, but Chapter 10 is pretty basic to me. Expect that within the next fifteen months (it'll not be another Chapter 9).

Weekly Update: August 2, 2010

Whoops. Forgot about last week. My bad.

Mario Paint Composer

To anyone who missed my latest release, here it is.
I also started and finished my part in the long dormant Community Original Composition. Rusty now (hopefully) has the parts. Let's see if we can get it out by the one year anniversary of the start of it. :P

The Buck Stops Here (TBSH)

Still nothing regarding my little side project. I would like to start it. Lack of time, an actual camera (I was planning using my webcam), and a little nervousness is getting at me.

We are watching Children of Man in Film class. We also got an assignment regarding an original short story.

Other

I've been playing a lot of League of Legends lately. Yeah I know, "I should be working on MPC/TBSH." Sorry, it's too fun. And it's completely free.

To anyone who wants to check it out, here's a link.

Hopefully you enjoy!

Weekly Update: July 19, 2010

Mario Paint Composer

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. ;-;

The Buck Stops Here (TBSH)

Finished watching Rear Window in Film class. Been wanting to see that for a while too.

Other

Had fun at my family vacation. Saw Inception over the weekend; very good movie. Unfortunately, I either caught stomach flu or got food poisoning, as I fell ill on Sunday. After a horrible experience driving beck from Duluth, I spent the next few hours in the bathroom. I did not go to school today; first sick day I've had in years. Hopefully I'm better by tomorrow.

Weekly Update: July 12, 2010

Mario Paint Composer

I actually touched MPC this week. D:

Out of nowhere, I came up with a huge project. I'm trying to shorten the project so I can upload it in one video. Expect this whenever I touch MPC again. :/

Also for people who came from my YouTube channel, the "Nothing at All" under Current Projects is a song, not saying I'm not working on anything. :P

Melancholy MIDI will be released this Wednesday.

The Buck Stops Here (TBSH)

Too much homework to get back on this at the moment. We are watching Citizen Kane in film class. Next week is Rear Window. I've been wanting to see both for quite some time now.

Other

My apartment is without internet until Thursday. Thankfully, my school has free internet, so I'll be staying there until 5 every day (school work reasons as well). On Thursday, I'm heading up to Duluth for an annual family vacation; we've been doing this for the past eight years now every July. Looking forward to it. ^_^

Weekly Update: July 6, 2010

Yeah yeah, I know it's Tuesday.

Mario Paint Composer

Had too busy of a week. Never even had a chance to open it. ;-;

I started working on my LOCs again. MY main goal this time was to create the events that will fill the rest of the album. I originally had no idea what would happen in-between Meaningless and Deathbed; I had basic ideas. Now I have the events laid out before me. I just need to add lyrics to them.

I'm Looking MIDI released on the 1st. Melancholy MIDI will be released on the 15th.

The Buck Stops Here (TBSH)

Major. Procrastination. AGAIN.

In Film & Literature class, Iturned in a micro-review of Caddyshack II; I got a 93/100. Just need to expand on that (it was 400 words), add a few jokes some people will laugh at, and film. Maybe by August, but I can't make any promises.

Other

Ch. 9 of my story is still in development. Still plan on releasing it sometime this month. FINALLY.

Monday, June 28, 2010

Weekly Update: June 28, 2010

Mario Paint Composer

Very slow week in Mario Paint. There is one piece I'm almost done with (piano sf), so hopefully I can get it out sometime in July.

I will be deleting my Melancholy MIDI video on July 15, 2010. I have updated the MIDI; added a few things. I will also be uploading the MIDI of I'm Looking during the Fourth of July weekend.

The Buck Stops Here (TBSH)

Major. Procrastination.

Instead of trying to get a review done, I instead watched the four Pixar movies I hadn't seen (Cars, Ratatouille, Wall-E, and Up). I enjoyed them very much.

Other

I started working on one of my stories again. Thanks to a computer error last July, I lost most of my work to my story. I've since managed to re-do all my hard work, improving it in many areas. The current update, Chapter 9, should be out sometime in July.

See you next Monday!
Hopefully you enjoy!

Monday, June 21, 2010

Weekly Update: June 21, 2010

Mario Paint Composer

I reached 1,000 subscribers on the 17th! Yay! ^_^

I have a few new pieces I'm working on. One is a full piano song (it's a theme from a very popular movie) and a song I used to listen to all the time when I was younger (O-Town's "Nothing at All"). Expect these sometime in July (hopefully :/)

Deathbed (in MIDI version) will be released tomorrow.

The Buck Stops Here (TBSH)

Still trying to get out of major procrastination. I might just wing it (script-wise) and see where it goes from there. Still have no idea how to use Vegas, but I managed to pick up Adobe After Effects. Hopefully that's easier to use.

See you next Monday!
